Meet Our Host & Team

Damyon Traylor Jr., also known by in broadcast and by his peers as Dtray, is a passionate sports enthusiast whose deep love for athletics was shaped by a childhood immersed in basketball and football. From the age of five, basketball became the focal point of his life, fostering a strong connection to the game that lasted through his entire childhood.

 

Upon entering college he followed his passion for sports which led him to an opportunity to work with Piedmont Gameday and  turn his love for sports into a career. This role was a catalyst in which Dtray realized he's equipped with the skills  to shape narratives in athletics  by providing depth and narrative to the stories in the sports world. He began broadcasting basketball games and conducting pre- and post-game interviews. Dtray found himself immersed in a close-knit community of the sports world, where he became known as the person who brought their stories to life through the microphone.

 

Inspired by conversations behind the scenes  with those in the arena that went beyond the game into the day to day lifestyle, Dtray realized listeners and fans wanted more than just stats and that's exactly what was missing from sports entertainment. Dtray decided to create a podcast and launched TheLiveTap. This podcast was designed to showcase athletes, amplifying their voice, diving into their personal life's triumphs and challenges and highlight who they are beyond their sport. Focusing on the mental and physical aspects of athletics and more, TheLiveTap provides a unique insight to the experience off the field or court with anecdotal sports talk. Since its inception in October 2024, the podcast has featured athletes, coaches, athletic directors, and trainers, each sharing their unique experiences and perspectives.

 

Through TheLiveTap, Dtray continues to inspire listeners and viewers to appreciate the full scope of what it means to be an athlete, emphasizing the importance of mental health and personal growth in the world of sports.
